Also aftermarket radios with tons of buttons and bright colors and giant screens installed in vintage cars. Yeah, that doesn't clash at all.

And of course, tiny-ass buttons, or even worse, no buttons at all!
However, I will say that I wasn't talking about vintage cars, which are quite easy to hook up an aftermarket radio to; my main beef is in luxury cars of the 90s and 00's with very complicated shit which is impossible or expensive to do it *correctly* and of course quite a few features that don't work for the aftermarket.

I was hanging out at my local Euro Sport shop last summer and noticed that the Lotus Evora came from the factory with the same shitty headunit my Miata came with.

Like the ones that look like a fucking strip club on LSD when they're turned on?

I can give that a pass because Lotus is known for using parts from other cars, and the radio isn't even standard on them! Also, whether or not a Lotus has a factory radio, swapping an aftermarket unit in is no big deal at all.
The main target of my OP is towards luxury cars with expensive, complicated, heavily integrated sound systems. It's almost impossible to do the job properly, and the "upgrades" are almost always downgrades . And I didn't even get to the features and shit that won't work once the aftermarket shit is swapped in, or the cheap neon look most of them have.

Yeah, huge turn off, seeing one of those smack in the middle of a 1960s dash.
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

It would be nice if someone made a set of aftermarket radios with swappable faceplates that matched the interior of a specific car model.
